HOW TO APPLY FOR INFORMATION

Apply in writing in English to the Public Information Officer, asking for the information required (Please refer to the specimen form on this website). Please ensure that the question is clear and has the date and your name and address. Deposit this along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 10/- (Rupees ten only) and collect a receipt. You should receive a reply within 30 days. In case you do not receive a reply you can file an appeal with the First Appellate Authority of this office.

IN CASE YOU DO NOT RECEIVE INFORMATION WITHIN 30 DAYS OR YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE INFORMATION RECEIVED, YOU CAN FILE AN APPEAL WITH THE FIRST APPELLATE AUTHORITY. IF YOU STILL WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT OR APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF PIO/APPELLATE AUTHORITY YOU CAN APPROACH STATE INFORMATION COMMISSION, NAGALAND.
